“He is the best player to come out of India,” David Lloyd in awe of Virat Kohli

Lloyd also picked Kohli in the list of players he would pay to watch.

While some are engaging with fans on social media, some are picking their all-time XIs and favourite players from the past and modern-day cricket.

Recently, former England cricketer-turned-commentator David Lloyd picked the players he would pay to watch from present and past.

“I'd definitely pay to watch England play as a team. Ben Stokes is box office,” Lloyd told Sportsmail, before taking the name of Virat Kohli and terming him as India’s best cricketer ever.

“But I'd go for Virat Kohli. I reckon he is the best player to come out of India. He is fearless and, crucially, I think he always puts his team first. He has to win — for the team,” he added.

Among the cricketers of previous era, Lloyd took the name of West Indies batting legend Brian Lara.

“Aesthetically I would never tire of watching Lara. He was a flipping genius,” he said.

David Lloyd’s opinion is justified as well given that Kohli is a monster across three formats. The Indian captain has already aggregated 43 one-day international hundreds – only behind his batting hero Sachin Tendulkar (49).

He averages a mind-boggling 59.33 in ODIs from 248 matches with 11,867 runs while his T20I average reads 50.80 in 82 games with 2794 runs.

Virat has also proved his mettle in the traditional format of cricket, scoring 7240 runs at an impressive average of 53.62 from 86 matches thus far. He boasts of 27 tons in Tests with 6 of them being double.
