The Pakistani all-rounder has given lots of tidbits to his fans and cricket lovers in the book and also takes a dig at many of his contemporaries.

Gautam Gambhir reveals why his relationship with Shahid Afridi can never be good

Gautam Gambhir’s nationalist tweets rebuking Pakistan for their military and terrorist actions in Kashmir have not gone down well with Shahid Afridi. Both have been fighting on Twitter for some time now and Afridi believes Gambhir has no personality at all but likes to act tough.

“(Gautam Gambhir) and his attitude problem. He, who has no personality. He, who is barely a character in the great scheme of cricket. He, who has no great records, just a lot of attitude. He, who behaves like he’s a cross between Don Bradman and James Bond,” he writes in his book.

Another player who is not in good books of Shahid Afridi due to his tweets against Pakistan is Virender Sehwag, Gautam Gambhir’s opening partner for India. Sehwag has been called ‘killer of pace attacks’ earlier in the book, but Afridi calls him irresponsible for his tweets.

Virender Sehwag and Shahid AfridiLook at Virender Sehwag. Look at the negative statements he makes on Twitter about Pakistan. Is that responsible behavior? Consider his fans all over the world. Consider his fans here, in Pakistan…We are ambassadors. We can’t be partisan, except on the field. In this new, hyper India, Kohli, Sehwag, and Co. clearly don’t get that,” he says.

He also says the Indian team donning military caps on the cricket field in 2019 ‘was a bit much’, saying cricketers should be ambassadors and not politicians.
