The Coronavirus pandemic has brought a lot of cricketing activity around the world to a halt. The concerned boards are trying to decide the fate of the future series once the sport can be played again. However, the cricket boards are also taking pay-cuts in order to cope with the lack of sport, and thus profits.

The latest cricket board is Australia Cricket that has declared pay-cuts in their new statement. Except for a few skeleton staff members, the rest of the staff members have been asked to work with reduced pay.

CA said in a statement, “We have made the decision during this period of isolation, where activity has naturally been reduced, to stand down our people on reduced pay (with the exception of a skeleton staff) effective 27 April ...”

“We will continue to seek advice from medical experts and relevant government agencies to ensure the health and safety of our people, volunteers, and communities, and to return to business as soon as possible,” it added.

The statement also mentioned that Australia is hoping to host the ICC T20 World Cup 2020 as per schedule.

“Cricket Australia - like all sporting bodies - is planning for a return to training/play although no one is certain when this will be possible at this stage, and many scenarios are being considered. We are conscious of the impact this will have on Australian cricket and are working hard to manage that proactively,” it read.
