India’s T20 World Cup 2007 hero Joginder Sharma has been making headlines and applauded by many for his bit in the fight against the ongoing global Coronavirus pandemic.
The former Indian pacer is now serving as a Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) in the Haryana Police and once again rose to the occasion after having bowled the match-winning over in the 2007 T20 World Cup finale against Pakistan, as he is currently seen performing as Corona Warrior as India continues to fight against the ongoing COVID-19 outbreak.
He is currently positioned in the Hisar district of Haryana which is approximately 110 km from his home – Rohtak and he has to remain available 24 hours at his job in case an emergency call comes along to make sure people stay indoors and follow the government’s guidelines during the ongoing lockdown.
The 36-year-old also said that he doesn’t even go home to avoid any risk after his duty hours end, as he comes in contact with many people during his duty hours.
However, he finally got a chance to meet his family in Rohtak after getting discharged from his duties on Sunday (April 12) as the Indian star confirmed the same on Twitter while sharing a video of him playing cricket at home with his children.
He captioned the post: “Finally, after a long, I got time to spend with my family...Motivating kids to be strong and stay happy at home…”
Noteworthy, Sharma played 4 One Day Internationals and 4 T20 Internationals for India between 2004 and 2007 and after his retirement, he joined the police force.
