Well, on Sunday, April 12, Steyn conducted an #AskDale session on Twitter where answered a number of questions including the five best batsmen he battled against in his career.

The 36-year-old came up with his best list featuring only two Indians in Sachin Tendulkar and Rahul Dravid. The veteran started by naming Australia legend Ricky Ponting as the prime batsman followed by the iconic Indian pair of Dravid and Tendulkar.

Steyn ended up by naming flamboyant batsmen Chris Gayle (West Indies) and Kevin Pietersen (England) as the other two best batsmen he played against.

He replied to a query, “Faaak bud they all good ey! Ponting was prime, Sachin was a wall, Dravid, Gayle, KP, they were all so good!”

Meanwhile, Steyn was also asked about pacers having perfect bowling action, he termed his young teammate Kagiso Rabada's action as “smoothest and easiest action to generate pace.”

The speedster also picked Australian pacer Pat Cummins as his close favorite bowler. He said: “KG has probably the smoothest easiest action to generate pace. Pat C is also a close favorite.”

Earlier, the Proteas pacer has named the ten-wicket haul against India in Nagpur and the eleven-wicket haul against Pakistan in Johannesburg as his favorite bowling spells in Test cricket.

Noteworthy, Steyn was last seen in action during the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2020, where he Islamabad United, while last international appearance against Australia last month.
