Zaheer Abbas believes the current break in cricket due to Coronavirus pandemic is beneficial for modern-day cricketers who are always on the road and never get time to spend with their families.

The Coronavirus outbreak has ensured that there is no live sport going at the moment in the world. Even though the pandemic was uncalled for, the modern-day cricketers are getting a much-needed break according to former Pakistan captain Zaheer Abbas.

Abbas said, “I think it is a good break for them. They always live on suitcases, play too much cricket, and rarely get time to be at home. Now they have got a chance to spend time with family.

He has also suggested the players do those things that they don’t get to do when they are on tours and also remain fit for future tournaments.

I would suggest them to introspect, keep working on fitness and do whatever they were not able to because of their busy schedule. It will also keep them refreshed for the future,” he said.

The 72-year-old naturally puts health before sport and believes that it is the most important thing at the moment even though the lack of sports would mean huge financial losses to various entities.

He said, “Life without any live sports is dull, but health is the most important thing at this point. It is an unprecedented situation. I haven’t seen in my lifetime the whole world coming to a standstill. It’s going to affect every country, every field and sport is no exception. The financial losses will be huge.
