With most countries going into lockdown, closing borders and issuing travel restrictions to contain the spread of COVID-19, cricket has also come to a grinding halt.

Therefore, the BCCI on Monday (April 6) announced that DD Sports, the state-owned sports broadcasting channel, will broadcast the highlights of India's cricket matches from the early 2000s.

The aim of BCCI is to keep the fans entertained during this crisis as they now will be able to relive some of India’s greatest cricketing moments of the last 20 years. The telecast will start from April 7.

Taking to Twitter, BCCI wrote: "The 2000s cricket rewind! The BCCI and Government of India bring you cricket highlights from the past. Sit back and enjoy the action on @ddsportschannel. #StayHomeStaySafe."

The highlights will include matches of the tri-series between India, Australia and New Zealand in 2003, South Africa's tour to India in 2000, Australia's tour of India in 2001, West Indies' tour of India in 2002 and Sri Lanka's tour of India in 2005.
