Shane Warne reveals the best captain he played against during his illustrious career

Warne played 145 Tests for Australia from 1992 to 2006.

Warne named Stephen Fleming as the best captain he played against | GettyLegendary Australia spinner Shane Warne on Thursday (April 2) named former Kiwi skipper Stephen Fleming as the best captain he played against during his illustrious career.

“Stephen Fleming was the best captain I played against in my time, he knew how to get the best of his team-mates. He should have made more hundreds,” Warne said while hosting an Instagram Live session.

Fleming represented New Zealand in 111 Tests, scoring 7172 runs at an average of 40.06 with 9 tons and 46 half-centuries. He led the side to 28 wins from 80 Tests.

As far as limited-overs cricket is concerned – Fleming played 280 ODIs and 5 T20Is for the Black Caps in his 12-year long international career. He led his country in 218 ODIs, winning 98 games and losing 106.

Warne also picked Fleming as the leader of his greatest New Zealand Test XI, which also features Martin Crowe, Daniel Vettori, Brendon McCullum, Shane Bond and Danny Morrison.
