On Thursday, April 2, Cricketer-turned-politician Gautam Gambhir has once again won the hearts by donating his two year's salary to Prime Minister's Citizen Assistance and Relief in Emergency Situations Fund (PM CARES Fund) to support the battle against the pandemic in the country.

Taking to Twitter on Thursday, Gambhir, a BJP Lok Sabha MP from East Delhi, announced the same while appealing to others to come forward and help the Coronavirus pandemic victims.

The former left-handed batsman wrote: “People ask what can their country do for them. The real question is what can you do for your country? I am donating my 2 year's salary to #PMCaresFund. You should come forward too! @narendramodi @JPNadda @BJP4Delhi #IndiaFightsCorona”

Noteworthy, Gambhir had earlier donated his one-month salary and one crore rupees from the MP Local Area Development Program Fund towards the Central Relief Fund to help in the fight against the COVID-19 outbreak.

According to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, the total number of coronavirus cases in India climbed to 1,965 on Thursday while 50 people have died due to the lethal infection.
