Australian spin legend Shane Warne has showered rich praise on legendary fellow leg-spinner Anil, calling him a ‘super competitor’ for his unique bowling.
Kumble has served Indian cricket in various capacities and even he left a mark with each and every job whether be it as a cricketer, captain and coach or commentator, but he has a special place among the greats because of his unique spin bowling.

However, former Indian captain didn’t spin the ball like Australian spin legend Shane Warne or Sri Lankan great Muttiah Muralitharan, but his unique skills have earned him the tag of one of best ever spinners the game has ever seen.
Kumble is the third on the list of highest wicket-takers ever in the Test cricket with 619 wickets while Muralitharan tops the list with 800 wickets followed by Warne on the second spot with 708 scalps.
Recently, Warne hosted a live session on Instagram, where he lauded Kumble and also revealed how he managed to pick so many wickets despite not spinning the ball a lot like other tweakers.
Warne said about Kumble on Instagram: “For a guy who did not spin the ball a long way, one of the reasons why he got so many wickets is because he got the bounce and because of his skill.”

The Aussie further added: “He was a super competitor, it was his brain, he thought about the game. Even though he is a gentleman, and he is quiet, he is a super competitor. He is hungry, love calling him a friend. Always did so well.”
Noteworthy, Kumble is the highest Indian Test wicket-taker in the list followed by former captain Kapil Dev (434 wickets) and Harbhajan Singh grabs the third with 417 wickets in the five-day format.
