Joe Root is getting motivated for Ashes 2021/22 by watching Amazon Prime’s documentary on Australian cricket, ‘The Test’.

‘The Test’ features the Australian cricket team’s revival after their leading cricketers Steve Smith and David Warner were banned for a year due to their involvement in the Sandpaper Gate. The documentary also features the ICC ODI World Cup 2019 that took place in England followed by the Ashes series soon after.

Joe Root told the reporters, “Whilst we were away (on tour) I exhausted a lot of the shows that I wanted to watch, it’s come round to watching that now. It’s been a good motivator to get back and train, get back on the bike, use it as a way of incentivizing myself.”

“I’ve only got to the start of the World Cup, so we’ll see how the rest of it unfolds,” he added.

The England Test team has pretty inexperienced players at the top of their batting order like Dominic Sibley and Ollie Pope. Root has a vision of giving them enough experience in Test cricket to prepare them for the tough challenges that the Australian team will be throwing at them in the Ashes series in 2021/22 in Australia.

“If we can keep putting experience into a number of the young batters as well, give them game time, then we’re starting to build a team that has confidence, experience, is ready and hardened for the challenges Australia will throw at us,” he added.
