Coronavirus lockdown has left all the people around the world with only the option to be in isolation and follow the social distancing being confined to the home in order to avoid the spread of the deadly COVID-19 virus which has claimed over 30000 lives globally so far.

As there is no cricket these days, the cricket fraternity is kept themselves busy doing all kinds of things at home like cooking, cleaning, workout routines, engaging with social media fans and other household chores to deal with the sporting lockdown caused by the global Coronavirus pandemic.

With the entire world dealing with the COVID-19 lockdown, Australian batting superstar Steve Smith has found a different way to make the most of his isolation period at home he had never done before.

In the modern era of cricket, most cricketers are seen wearing a stylish beard, but Smith is among some of the cricketers who have always been seen sporting a clean-shaven look.

However, the worldwide lockdown has encouraged Smith to do experiment with his look, as the right-hander wants to give growing a beard a crack as he is “not seeing too many people” amid the boredom caused by global Coronavirus pandemic.

Smith told Channel Nine: “I said to my wife that in this little period when I am sort of isolated and not seeing too many people, that I want to give growing a beard a crack.”

He further added: “It certainly takes a while for me to grow one. Never gone this far before. So, I've gone through that sort of itchy phase, so look let's see how it goes.”

Noteworthy, Smith’s captaincy ban has finished on Sunday, March 29, and he has now become eligible to captain the Australia cricket team once again. He was stripped of the captaincy for two years for his involvement in the 2018 ball-tampering scandal in South Africa.

He had also served a one-year ban from the game for the same.
