16-year-old Richa Ghosh donates INR 1 lakh to West Bengal Chief Minister's relief fund

Ghosh represented India in two matches in the recently concluded Women's T20 World Cup in Australia.

16-year-old India cricketer Richa Ghosh has donated Rs 1 lakh to the Bengal Chief Minister's relief fund for the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic. Ghosh had represented India in the recently concluded Women's T20 World Cup in Australia.

When everybody is fighting COVID-19 and the chief minister has appealed for a united battle against it, I thought of contributing a bit as a responsible citizen of the country,” Richa who played two T20 matches in the World Cup said.

Richa's father Manabendra Ghosh went to the Siliguri district magistrate Sumanta Sahay's residence to hand over the cheque on Saturday, Cricket Association of Bengal said.

The Coronavirus pandemic has affected more than 6,50,000 people across the globe with about 31,000 deaths. As far as India is concerned, the number of positive is currently 987 with the death toll of 25.
