As India continues to battle the global Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) has joined other state associations by extending helping hands in this critical time.

The MCA on Thursday (March 26) announced a donation of Rs 50 lakh to the Maharastra Government to fight the deadly outbreak of the COVID-19 with the state topping the chart with 121 cases so far.

The total number of Coronavirus positive cases in India has jumped to 693, while the death toll raised to 13 because of the fast-growing virus which has claimed over 21000 lives globally till now.

MCA Secretary Sanjay Naik told PTI that the body has taken the decision during the Apex Council meeting on Thursday where the President and Secretary decided the donation amount.

Mr. Naik said: “Accordingly, we decided to donate Rs 50 lakh.”

Noteworthy, an MCA Apex Council member has confirmed that the decided amount will be donated to the Chief Minister's Relief Fund to battle the COVID-19 outbreak.

The official also revealed that the MCA is also ready to give its properties including the Wankhede Stadium for quarantine if the government requires it.
