Sussex head coach Jason Gillespie has returned home to Australia after England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) suspended professional cricket until at least May 28 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
As the world battles COVID-19, many sporting events including cricket games have been canceled or postponed all around the world because of the coronavirus pandemic that has claimed over 13000 lives with infecting over 3 lakh peoples globally so far.

After returning back home from England, Gillespie, Australian bowling legend, has revealed that he is in isolation for the next two weeks and urged everyone to stay in their homes as it is the only option to be safe and play an individual part in defeating the deadly COVID-19.
Taking to Twitter on Sunday (March 22), Gillespie said: “Due to current events it was decided by @SussexCCC and myself that it would be best if I was back home in Australia. Hence, I am now home and in isolation for the next 2 weeks. Having just been o/s, I urge everyone to please stay at home. It is the ONLY option for all of us.”
He also lauded the way the English county club has dealt with the current crisis amid the deadly outbreak of the COVID-19 has affected around 175 countries in the world.
Gillespie said in another tweet: “Our club @SussexCCC have been amazing looking, after all, our players and staff. We cut short our pre-season trip to Cape Town and the club's absolute priority has always been staff and players that were home and away. Our club has strong leadership with Rob Andrew at the helm.”
Noteworthy, Australia has confirmed over 1700 COVID-19 positive cases with 7 deaths so far.
