Ireland and Bangladesh have decided to mutually postpone their series which was to be played in May. This has been done due to the Coronavirus pandemic that has brought countries all over the world to their knees.

Health systems are collapsing and countries like Italy, China, Iran, and Spain have witnessed a huge number of COVID-19 cases which are on a constant rise and deaths are happening at one every three minutes span (in Italy). This pandemic has also caused the various cricket leagues, tournaments, and bilateral series to be canceled or postponed.

Ireland was to play Bangladesh in three ODIs between 14 - 19 May, but the games will now be deferred to a later date.

"Once the scale of the COVID-19 pandemic was understood, and the advice of both Governments and partner boards was sought, it became increasingly unlikely that this series could proceed as scheduled," said Cricket Ireland chief executive Warren Deutrom.

He added, "We have a responsibility to protect the wellbeing of players, coaches, fans and the wider community, and will not hesitate to take a safety-first approach to our operations over the coming months."

The India v South Africa ODIs, Australia v New Zealand ODIs, Sri Lanka v England Tests and the Australia women's tour of South Africa were some of the bilateral series that was postponed due to Coronavirus. The PSL 5, IPL 13 and EPL 2020 have been already postponed due to the same reason.
