As cricket is an obsessive fandom in the subcontinent, there is nothing enthralling than watching the on-field war between old foes – India and Pakistan, thanks to their own historic rivalry over the Kashmir region as well as the border terrorism – which forced Indian team to play them only in the ICC events.

There is no doubt that the India-Pakistan cricket rivalry is the most passionate in all of the sports and when the two sides play each other, it’s more than a game for both players and fans from both countries.

Well, it is known to everyone that India-Pakistan rivalry is one of the most intense sports rivalries in the world but still, there has always been a mutual respect between cricketers of both the countries.

Recently, Pakistan legend Javed Miandad has named his favorite Indian cricketer and almost most of the Indian fans must be expecting Sachin Tendulkar, Sourav Ganguly or MS Dhoni’s name but it was current Team India captain Virat Kohli whose style impresses him most.

Miandad said on his Youtube channel: “I was asked who is the best in the Indian cricket team, so I choose Virat Kohli. I don’t have to say much, his performance itself tells a lot.”

He further added, “People have to admit this as stats are visible. Virat performed really well in South Africa; even on an uneven wicket, he scored a hundred. You cannot say he is scared of fast-bowlers or he cannot play on bouncy pitches or he doesn’t play spinners well. He is a clean hitter. Look at his shots, it feels so good to watch him bat. He has class.”

Javed MiandadMeanwhile, the legendary batsman has also made a scathing comment on the current national set-up, claiming there is no one in the current Pakistan squad who can replace players in teams like Australia, England, South Africa, New Zealand, and India.

He asked, “I want to ask them is there anyone from Pakistan who can replace players in teams like Australia, England, South Africa, New Zealand, and India?”

However, former captain impressed with the quality of bowlers in the side, adding: “None of our batsmen can play in these teams. We have bowlers but none in the batting line-up.”

Miandad signed off by saying, “This world runs on a daily basis and wages. Score runs today, take the money and go. Score runs tomorrow then we will again pay you money. You are a professional, if you don’t work or score runs then why take money? This is the job of the Pakistan Cricket Board. They need to ensure that nobody takes the cricket team for granted.”
