Shoaib Akhtar feels Haider Ali is at par or better than Babar Azam

While Babar is Pakistan's best batsman, Akhtar feels Haider Ali can perform better than him.

Babar Azam is considered to be one of not only Pakistan’s but world’s best batsman at the moment. But former Pakistan fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar who has his own YouTube channel recently said in a video that Pakistan has another batsman who has more potential than Babar.

Babar who started out as a Test specialist is now often compared with other world-class batsmen like Virat Kohli, Kane Williamson, and Steve Smith. But now, Azam is not just a Pakistani Test player, he has made his mark in all three formats as he averages about 54 in ODIs, over 50 in T20Is and more than 45 in Tests.

But, according to the legendary pacer Shoaib Akhtar, Haider Ali who currently plays for Peshawar Zalmi in this ongoing season of Pakistan Super League (PSL) is better than Pakistan’s T20 skipper.

Don’t forget that Haider Ali is also coming at par with Babar Azam. Haider Ali is from Rawalpindi and people from Rawalpindi are not normal but extraordinary. You will get to know that Haider Ali is at par with Babar Azam or maybe even better than him, but that is something time will tell you,” he said in his recent video.

Haider has scored about 239 runs in the 9 games he played at an average of 29.87 at an amazing strike-rate of 158.27. The 19-year-old right-hand batsman also recently became the youngest batsman ever to score a half-century in PSL.

The 25-year-old Babar, on the other hand, delivered as expected from him with 313 runs to his name in 9 matches and is currently the top scorer in the tournament.
