Australia’s white-ball captain Aaron Finch has recently revealed sleepless nights because of the world-class speedster Jasprit Bumrah during India’s tour of Australia in 2018-19.

He had begun his Test career well with a half-century in Dubai against Pakistan in 2018, but just a couple of months later, the white-ball specialist found it really tough to make a mark in the Test cricket.

The opening was horribly struggled and exposed during the Australia-India Test series in 2018-2019 when the Indian Cricket team registered a historic 2-1 triumph on Australian soil.

Finch revealed that he had plenty of self-doubts due to his poor form against India during that series, where he managed only 97 runs in all three Tests to lose his spot in the national Test squad. He has been out of the Australian Test set-up since the 2018 Boxing Day Test in Melbourne against India.

Well, Bumrah was the man who troubled the Aussie the most during that Test series, as the Indian star bowler dismissed Finch twice in six innings and troubled him throughout the home series.

Recently, the Aussie has revealed his struggles against Bumrah in the documentary The Test by Amazon Prime, saying he used to wake up in the night during the India series thinking that India’s premier bowler has dismissed him again in the next match.

Finch said: “How am I in a position to tell someone to do their job right if I’m not doing my own right. I’ve been searching for scores… I’m constantly thinking to get some runs at top of the order to get the pressure off many. There were times I woke up at night…thinking about getting out, thinking I’ facing Bumrah again tomorrow, he’s getting me out for fun.”

He was also scared of Bhuvneshwar Kumar’s length delivery which nipped back into him. Aaron signed off by saying, “Wake up thinking Bhuvneshwar has got me out a lot of times with the ball coming back in.”
