Soumya Sarkar faces 3 years in jail for using deerskin at wedding

Bangladesh cricketer Soumya Sarkar is in trouble as he could face legal action over possession of deerskin. If found guilty, the cricketer could be jailed for three years.

Soumya tied the knot with longtime girlfriend, Priyonti Debnath Puja last Wednesday. He had skipped the three-match one-day series against Zimbabwe which the hosts won 3-0.

The wedding had already made headlines because of the wrong reasons. As per reports, a fight broke out during the wedding over theft of as many as seven mobile phones. Police had to control the situation.

Now, Soumya and his family could land in jail over the latest controversy. His father Kishori Mohan Sarker commented on the issue and said that the deerskin was a family tradition. 

Kishori added that the deerskin was passed on from one generation to another, and he passed on to Soumya.
