Smriti Mandhana has opened up on her reaction to getting from 2K followers to 299K followers on Instagram in a space of 5 days.

The left-handed opening batter Smriti Mandhana became the ‘National crush’ after registering back-to-back big knocks in the first two games of the 2017 World Cup where the Indian women finished as runners up.

Before the tournament started, she had even deleted Twitter from her phone. Later on, she figured out that her followers  on Instagram had jumped from 2K to 299K in just under a week and believed that people had gone crazy.

She told Cricbuzz, “My Twitter was deleted and I didn’t know what was Instagram. I just knew that one day I was on 2000 followers and in five days, I had 299K followers and I was like log pagal ho gaye.”
