Former West Indies batsman Brian Lara lauded KL Rahul's batting. The India batsman has been in a superb form lately and his performance is only going upward. Lara called Rahul a class batsman.

“Rahul is just class… he is my favorite. He is a great entertainer and a great person to watch bat,” Lara said on Monday. 

There was a debate over whether Rahul should be included in Test format or not? Brian says he has the game to fit into the red-ball format.

“I don’t know (why he was not included). I just know that with his technique and the way I see him bat, he should not have a problem being in any team, He's got the skills to play all forms of the game and to secure his place. He should be one of the first names after Virat Kohli in any Indian team,” Lara stated.

Rohit Sharma had got injured before the Test series against New Zealand. But instead of in-form Rahul, India called Shubman Gill into the squad as the backup opener.
