Australia has confirmed that the original 14-player ODI squad for the South Africa tour, not including Richardson, will be retained to take on New Zealand.

The 23-year-old Richardson is part of the Aussie squad which is currently playing a T20I series against South Africa. He didn’t feature in the playing XI for first two T20Is and with the series is currently tied 1-1, it will be interesting to see if Richardson gets to play the decider in Cape Town on February 26.

"Jhye is performing exceptionally well," Australian selector Trevor Hohns said. “He has slotted back into the T20 squad in South Africa and is pushing for a place in that side.
