India’s opener Shikhar Dhawan has been in and out of the national team for the last few months with the series of freak injuries since the World Cup 2019 in England and is currently undergoing rehab at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru.

Dhawan was ruled out of the white-ball leg of the ongoing New Zealand tour with a shoulder injury that he picked up during the third and final One Day International against Australia last month after he landed awkwardly on his left shoulder while diving to stop a shot from Aaron Finch.

First, the opener suffered the finger injury and ruled out of the World Cup 2019 and then a deep gash to his knee during a Syed Mushtaq Ali and a Grade-II injury – from which he has now recovered and announced his comeback in a typical “Gabbar” style on social media.

Noteworthy, the left-hander is likely to return to the Indian team for the upcoming three-match One Day International series against South Africa starting from March 12, and then he will represent the Delhi Capitals (DC) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020.

Dhawan has shared a picture of himself sitting on a horse and captioned the post an edited dialogue from the iconic Bollywood film ‘Sholay’, indicating his return to the game on the photo-sharing app. He wrote: “Kitne bowler they? #Gabbar is back,”
