SA v ENG 2020: Dale Steyn named in South Africa’s 16-member T20I squad

The three-match T20I series starts from February 12 in East London.

Cricket South Africa (CSA) on Saturday (February 8) announced the 16-member squad for the upcoming three T20Is against England.

Quinton de Kock, who captained the T20I side on India tour last year, will continue to lead South Africa in the shortest format.

The T20I series against England will also see the return of legendary fast bowler Dale Steyn, who hasn’t played international cricket since March 2019.

Apart from De Kock, Reeza Hendricks, Temba Bavuma, Rassie van der Dussen and David Miller are part of the batting department. The squad also includes Heinrich Klaasen, JJ Smuts, Petrus van Biljon, Dwaine Pretorius and Andile Phehlukwayo.

Tabraiz Shamsi and Bjorn Fortuin are the two spinners in the side while Lungi Ngidi, Beuran Hendricks and Sisanda Magala are part of the pace attack.

Meanwhile, the resting period of Proteas Test skipper Faf du Plessis and leading speedster Kagiso Rabada has been extended.

The three-match T20I series starts from February 12 in East London. Durban and Centurion will host the second and third games on February 14 and February 16 respectively.
