Yuvraj Singh, who was part of India’s victorious campaigns in the ICC World T20 2007 and ICC Cricket World Cup 2011, has recently revealed that he had received a lot of love and prayers from his Pakistani fans during his cancer treatment in the United States (US).

The 38-year-old, who was diagnosed with a tumor of the lungs in 2011, lauded the Pakistani fans for sending their prayers on Twitter during his fight against cancer in the US.

In a Q&A session with Pakistan’s legendary all-rounder Shahid Afridi, India’s World Cup 2011 hero shared the story about his battle with cancer and the love, support, and prayers he received from his Pakistani fans when he was undergoing treatment in the US.

Yuvraj and Shahid Afridi, who had joined hands to promote the Expo 2020 Dubai, were considered as the best match-winners of their respective countries – India and Pakistan during their playing days.

He can be seen saying in the video shared by a Pakistani journalist on Twitter, “I still remember when I was in the US for treatment and Twitter was new at that time. I posted something about my treatment and loads of Pakistani people sent their prayers for me. It was a tough time for me. For a cricketer, remaining away from cricket is toughest.”

Noteworthy, Yuvraj Singh retired from the game of cricket last year after representing India in 40 Tests, 304, ODIs and 58 T20Is.
