PCB ready to shift Asia Cup to a neutral venue after BCCI threatens to pull out

PCB wanted to host the Asia Cup 2020 in Pakistan, but India refused.

Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) had shown objection over Pakistan hosting the Asia Cup 2020. The political tension between India and Pakistan has affected the relations between them, and hence cricket also got affected.

In a response to India, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) CEO Wasim Khan said that Pakistan will refuse to play the ICC T20 World Cup in 2021 if India refuses to participate in Asia Cup.

Wasim later clarified that his statement was taken out of context and they haven't made any decision on the matter.

Now, as per reports, PCB may agree to shift the venue of Asia Cup to United Arab Emirates (UAE) so that India could participate too.

Last Asia Cup, in 2018 was played in UAE which India won under the leadership of Rohit Sharma. “Our understanding is that the Asia Cup matter is resolved, and the neutral venue will be finalized at the ACC meeting,” the BCCI official told Mirror.

PCB chief Ehsan Mani had said the venue will be decided at the ACC meeting. “It is an ACC matter and the venue will be decided at the ACC meeting,” Ehsan Mani told Mirror on Friday.
