South Africa is reportedly mulling over visiting Pakistan to play three-match Twenty20 International series in late March 2020 following their scheduled One Day International (ODI) series in India which will end on March 18.
An ESPNcricinfo report on Thursday (January 30) claimed that the Cricket South Africa (CSA) will soon send a security delegation headed by Rory Steyn to Pakistan next month to assess the situation including logistical arrangements measures before confirming the short tour of the country.
It is being said that CSA’s security delegation wants to visit the ongoing Pakistan matches in order to gain first-hand information on the logistics involved, including the team’s hotel arrangements, transportation to the grounds and in-stadium experience.

Noteworthy, South Africa have not toured Pakistan since October 2007, though, they played Men in Green at their adopted home in the UAE twice in 2010 and 2013 and even Faf du Plessis, Imran Tahir, and Hashim Amla visited the country in 2017 as part of the World XI squad.
With many Proteas players featuring in the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020, the CSA is planning for a short T20I series in Pakistan to utilize the window for AB de Villiers after India ODIs as there will be a 10-day gap between the ODI series and IPL 2020.
It is being said that the Pakistan T20Is would provide an opportunity for De Villiers to get back into the T20I fold after he has expressed his desire to play in the upcoming T20 World Cup 2020 in Australia later this year.
