Shikhar Dhawan pays tribute to Team India's "Superfan" Charulata Patel

Charulata Patel Ji won the Internet with her passion for the game at the age of 87 as she cheered for the Men in Blue during a World Cup game in England.

Team India superfan Charulata Patel who won the internet with her passion for the game at the age of 87 as she cheered for the Men in Blue during the 2019 World Cup, passed away on January 13.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) recently shared the news of the death of Charulata Patel while offering condolences.

As whole cricket fraternity mourned for Charulata’s death, India opener Shikhar Dhawan paid his tribute as he tweeted, “RIP Charulata Patel Ji. Will always remember your passion for the game. Thank you for your unconditional love and support.”

While talking to ANI, Charulata Ji had said that she has been watching cricket for the last many decades and that she was also there when India lifted their maiden World Cup under Kapil Dev’s captaincy at Lord’s in 1983.
