Cricket fraternities have been busy in picking their team of the decade irrespective of the format for some time now and Aakash Chopra is the latest to join the bandwagon on social media.

Chopra, former Indian batsman, who is well-known for his unique style of commentary in Hindi, has on Thursday (January 2) named his Test team of the decade, revealing it on Twitter.

He picked Australia’s explosive batsman David Warner and England Test great Alastair Cook as his openers, as the two were run-machines for their respective countries in the past decade. While the cricket pundit’s middle-order was decorated with the current generation’s greats in Joe Root, Virat Kohli, and Steve Smith – who all have scored tons of runs for their respective countries.

Australia’s Smith, Indian skipper Kohli and England’s Test skipper Root have all scored around 21,556 runs together in Test Matches.

Meanwhile, R Ashwin and Shakib Al Hasan have found themselves as the spinning all-rounders in Chopra’s team while his bowling line up is a lethal one with the inclusion of Dale Steyn, James Anderson, and Stuart Broad.

Well, Chopra took an unexpected move while picking his wicket-keeper, as he went for New Zealand’s BJ Watling who is a Test specialist batsman with 3587 runs in 66 matches to his name.

He has also picked South African great AB de Villiers as the 12th man for this team but didn’t pick a captain for his Test team of the decade squad.

Here’s Aakash Chopra’s Test team of the decade:
David Warner, Alastair Cook, Joe Root, Virat Kohli, Steve Smith, BJ Watling, Shakib Al Hasan, Ravichandran Ashwin, Dale Steyn, Stuart Broad, James Anderson. AB de Villiers (12th Man)
