The game of Cricket seems to be dominated by the white-ball formats especially T20 cricket in the modern era and the fame of the Test cricket – the traditional format of the game is slowly moving towards the trough, thanks to the emergence of franchise cricket across the world.

However, the International Cricket Council (ICC) has been doing all possible efforts to keep the five-day format in trend by introducing Day/Night Test matches and even now they are mulling over trimming Tests to four days from five for the 2023-2031 World Test Championship cycle.

Well, Glenn McGrath, Australian pace legend, isn’t impressed with the idea, saying he hates to see it get any shorter being a very much traditionalist. As per reports in foxsports.com.au, McGrath said: “I’m very much a traditionalist. I like the game the way it is. To me, five days is very special and I’d hate to see it get any shorter.”

He signed off by saying, “The introduction of pink Tests, day-night Tests is a great way to continue keeping our game fresh and moving forward. In respects to changing how many days its played, I’m actually against it. I like the way it is.”
