International Cricket Council (ICC) finds itself on the receiving end of a funny comment by Yuzvendra Chahal on its Instagram post displaying Test batsmen’s rankings.
The Indian skipper Virat Kohli finished 2019 as the No. 1 ranked Test batsman, 17 points ahead of the Australian Steve Smith. Two more Indians, Cheteshwar Pujara and vice-captain Ajinkya Rahane are in the list at the fifth and joint-seventh positions respectively.
The official Instagram handle of the ICC posted the final updated rankings of Top 10 Test batsmen at the end of 2019.
Indian leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal, known for his antics off the field, posted a hilarious comment saying there should have been 11 names in the list as the next one was his. He wrote, “@icc why u only showed 10 players list because of my name on 11th no.”
Here is a screenshot of his comment:
The 29-year-old is far from making his Test debut and even if he makes it, it is highly unlikely that he will ever get a Test batting ranking by the ICC. He has so far scored 43 runs in twice the number of games in international cricket.
