The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has on Tuesday (December 24) hit back at Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Ehsan Mani for his controversial remark regarding the security situation in India.

On Monday, December 23, Mani took a dig at the BCCI, claiming India is “a greater security risk than Pakistan” after the PCB successfully hosted its first Test series in Pakistan in ten years against Sri Lanka – the first time since the deadly terror attack on Lankan team bus in Lahore in 2009.

Mani was quoted as saying by cricketpakistan.com.pk, “At this time, India is a far greater security risk than Pakistan.”

PCB chief’s comment didn’t really go down well with the Indian Cricket Board officials, slamming Mani for his controversial comment over India’s security conditions.

Meanwhile, BCCI Vice-president Mahim Verma criticized Mani while saying he should worry about security in his own country first, on the other hand, BCCI treasurer Arun Dhumal said the PCB chief isn’t eligible to comment about the security situation in India since he stays mostly in London.

Verma told ANI, “They should look at security in their own country first and think about it first. We are capable enough to handle our country and security here.”

While Dhumal told Hindustan Times on Monday: “For a person who stays mostly in London, it is inappropriate for him to comment anything on India’s security. He is not even eligible to comment on Pakistan’s security. He hardly stays there. If he gets to spend more time in Pakistan, he would get to understand the real situation there.”

Noteworthy, India and Pakistan have not played a bilateral series since 2013 due to tense relations between the two countries, but the fierce foes face each other at the ICC events.
