Charl Langeveldt has resigned as Bangladesh’s bowling coach to join South Africa's new coaching set-up under new head coach Mark Boucher in a similar capacity.

It is being said that the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) accepted Langeveldt's resignation following a request from Cricket South Africa (CSA) less than five months into his two-year contract.

The BCB president Nazmul Hasan confirmed the same to Cricbuzz, “Basically South Africa Cricket Board had requested for Langeveldt as they are eyeing to rope him in their coaching set-up.”

Hasan continued, “They are aware that Langeveldt has a contract with us and so decided to request us regarding him because unless we part ways they cannot take him in their coaching set-up. It is not like Langeveldt informed us anything like he wanted to leave us and go.”

Noteworthy, the 44-year-old Langeveldt had previously worked as Proteas' bowling coach between 2015 and 2017 and then Afghanistan's bowling consultant in the World Cup 2019.

With CSA making a huge overhaul in their coaching set-up in recent times including the appointment of Mark Boucher as South Africa's men's team coach and Enoch Nkwe his assistant, Jacques Kallis as the team's batting consultant, the former fast bowler Langeveldt’s link-up is another step in the process.

Meanwhile, Bangladesh appointed Langeveldt in July for the next two years but now they were forced to replace him within a month before the Pakistan tour next month.
