Twitter India is on a spree of revealing the top lists of Twitter handles who were the most popular in the year that will end soon. India being a sports-crazy country, there were bound to be a few sportspersons dominating the lists and the same has been shown in the results.
Cricket is definitely the king of sports when it comes to this country and Twitter India unveiled the top 10 of the most popular sports handles in India- Male and the list was topped by Virat Kohli and MS Dhoni, who came in at the no.1 and no.2 spot. Kohli has 32.6 million followers, while Dhoni has 7.8 mn followers.
However, the interesting fact is though Kohli is often engaging with his fans and promoting various products of brands he endorses on Twitter, Dhoni rarely tweets about things, still managed to land at the second spot in the list.
The other names on the list are all of the cricketers in the following order- Rohit Sharma, Sachin Tendulkar, Virender Sehwag, Harbhajan Singh, Yuvraj Singh, Hardik Pandya, Ravindra Jadeja, and Jasprit Bumrah. The interesting fact is Sachin retired in 2013, while Sehwag called time on his career in 2015, yet continue to be popular on social media.
