Mujeeb Ur Rahman re-joins Middlesex for Vitality T20 Blast season in 2020

He will spend most of the summer in England.

Afghanistan's spin sensation Mujeeb ur Rahman on Thursday, November 28, locked another T20 deal with Middlesex, rejoining the English county side for the next T20 Blast season.

On Thursday, the Middlesex have announced the signing of Mujeeb for the 2020 season of the T20 Blast and confirmed the young spinner will be available for the side for all 14 of their group stage matches in 2020 and the quarter-final of the tournament if the club qualifies.

Having spent the 2018 season at Hampshire, Mujeeb moved to Middlesex and played an integral role in the team’s success in the 2019 season, taking seven wickets and conceded 7.23 runs per over in his 10 outings, as the club reached the quarter-finals for just the second time since 2008.

With the latest signing, the 18-year-old will spend most of the summer in England next year having already drafted by Northern Superchargers for the inaugural season of the Hundred.

The young gun was excited to be back at the club for the next season, hoping to have a successful 2020 T20 blast season with Middlesex.

Mujeeb on his return, as reported by ESPNCricinfo: “I enjoyed my time at Middlesex so much, so I am very pleased to be coming back. The whole team, on and off the field, made me feel very welcome and hopefully, we can be successful together next season.”

Meanwhile, Middlesex’s head coach, Stuart Law welcomed the young spinner back to the club, saying: “We look forward to seeing him back at Middlesex next season.”

Law signed off, “It's great to have Mujeeb locked in for the Blast again in 2020. His ability to bowl economically in the powerplay is invaluable and he's a great man to have in the dressing room.”
