Indian speedster Umesh Yadav, who has shown an incredible growth in his blowing in the recently concluded big home season, asserted that after his marriage he has become a matured cricketer. He also said that his wife Tanya Wadhwa constantly motivated him that he can perform much better and he wasn't working as hard as he should.

Umesh will not be available to play in KKR's first two away games against Mumbai Indians and Gujarat Lions as he is going to his rehabilitation of his injury. During an interview with Indian Express, Umesh said, "I was left out of a Test, I was left out of a certain series. I never felt settled. But I think the maturity that I have now came after I got married. Then you start thinking about the other person and know that there's someone there for you always. Then you start thinking about the future more practically."

Yadav got hitched with Tanya in 2013, and she frequently visits stadiums to support Umesh live. Talking about the support from his wife, Umesh said, "Once my wife came into my life and the first 2-3 years (they married in 2013) she saw the ups and downs, she started pushing me harder. She was like yes you're doing well and trying hard, but I think you can try harder and do better. She kept saying, "Umesh you have that ability. I think you're not doing as much as you can".

Umesh also quoted that his wife has always wished that the world would recognize him as a 'world class fast bowler'. He also said that he will work harder for the fans to call him by that tag.
