The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) are planning to host South Africa in March 2020, as the PCB chief executive officer (CEO) Wasim Khan on Saturday (November 2) revealed that the board has invited the Cricket South Africa (CSA) to send its team to Pakistan for a T20 International series next year.

The board CEO also revealed that the PCB had also got positive signs from the Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) for the two Tests in Rawalpindi and Karachi in December, saying they will confirm the tour in a week's time.

PCB is trying hard to bring back International cricket regularly in Pakistan after ten years of isolation due to a terror attack on the Sri Lankan team in 2009. They successfully hosted the Islanders for a limited-overs series in Lahore and Karachi last month. Wasim told reporters on Saturday (November 2), “The gates to international cricket returning properly to Pakistan are open and there is no doubt that the recent tour by the Sri Lankan team to play the T20 and ODI series has helped us a lot.”

It is also being said that the talks are going in a positive manner with CSA and even the reports suggested that the South African board had given a positive reply to the PCB and the tour would probably go-ahead next year.

The PCB official signed off by saying, “We are hopeful they will come in late March as the series will also help both teams prepare for the World T20 Championship in October.”

Noteworthy, the PCB will also host England women's team for a three-match T20I series and three ODI matches in Malaysia in December, while the itinerary will be announced in a few days’ time.
