England’s new head coach Chris Silverwood, on Tuesday (October 22), insisted that his troops have moved on from their thrilling World Cup final victory over New Zealand, as they are gearing up to take on the Black Caps in a T20 International series here from 1st November.
Silverwood has also warned England to forget the World Cup glory and asked them to fully focused on the task at hand, as their historic triumph will count for nothing when the two teams meet again.
Eoin Morgan-led England beat the Black Caps on the boundary count-back rule in the title clash after a Super Over also failed to separate the two teams to win maiden World Cup trophy at Lord's in July.

They will now play two T20 warm-up games against a New Zealand XI before the five-match T20 International series starting from 1st November at Hagley Oval.
“I’m sure there will be a few conversations but we are here to focus on the series in front of us. We have moved on now”, said Silverwood on being asked if the World Cup was still a talking point on his arrival at Christchurch on Tuesday.
He continued, “Obviously, it was a fantastic game of cricket to be involved in at any level really, it was a real delight of experience but we have got to move on. Obviously, there is a different series in front of us now and we have got to concentrate on that.”
With English stars likes of Joe Root, Ben Stokes and Jos Buttler resting for the New Zealand series after a long summer of cricket, culminating, Silverwood asked the replacement players to make the most of the opportunity during the tour.
The coach further added, “It gives the opportunity to other young talent coming through, gives us an opportunity to see them and them an opportunity to express themselves.”
He signed off by saying, “One or two of them are having a break but it will be business as usual from a one-day point of view and with the T20s, (captain) Eoin Morgan has got a really strong hold on what he wants to do with the team and it is my job to back him up and put those things in place.”
