ICC suspends UAE cricketers Mohammad Naveed, Qadeer Ahmed and Shaiman Anwar for breaching anti-corruption rules

Ahmed Raza, the 31-year-old left-arm spinner has been appointed as the skipper for the upcoming T20 World Cup qualifiers.

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has provisionally suspended UAE (United Arab Emirates) batsman Shaiman Anwar, right-arm pacer Qadeer Ahmed and their regular skipper Mohammad Naveed with 13 counts of breaching its anti-corruption rules.

Earlier this week, when UAE announced their squads for the upcoming T20 World Cup qualifiers with Ahmed Raza, the 31-year-old left-arm spinner was appointed as the skipper and Naveed was nowhere in this list. At the time, there was no clarity provided as to why the change had been made.
