AUS v PAK 2019: Salman Butt, Fawad Alam and Adnan Akmal might make a comeback for Pakistan in Australia

The Pakistani coaches are highly impressed with the trio that has been really good in domestic cricket.

Pakistan cricket team is scheduled to tour Australia in November for three-match T20I series and a two-match Test series. The squads for the tour are yet to be announced but former skipper Salman Butt, batsman Fawad Alam and wicketkeeper-batsman Adnan Akmal could make a comeback for Pakistan on this tour.

Salman and Fawad have performed well on the domestic circuit for the past few years, while Akmal has been really good for Southern Punjab in the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy.

Butt, the 35-year-old left-hand batsman who was banned from playing for Pakistan due to his involvement in a spot-fixing scandal in 2010, scored a superb 237 for Central Punjab against Balochistan in the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy.

Fawad, who last played for Pakistan in 2015 made an unbeaten 100 for Sindh in their match against Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Akmal on the other hand, played his last international match in 2014.

As per Business Recorder, Pakistan’s coaching staff are understood to be impressed with the trio, along with Abid Ali, Sami Aslam and Mohammad Rizwan. Pakistan head coach and chief selector Misbah-ul-Haq will meet with the coaches soon and will be finalizing the squads for Australia tour.

Pakistan’s Australia tour will begin from 3 November with a three-match T20I series followed by a Test series with first Test match starting from November 21.
