Team India under the leadership of Virat Kohli are doing wonders lately, be it in Test cricket or limited-overs format. They are the numero uno Test side for last three years and are few points behind the World Champions England in the ICC ODI rankings.
Despite such a level of domination, there is one thing missing from the cabinet of Men in Blue. Virat and company have failed to lift an ICC trophy as of now. While India lost the final of ICC Champions Trophy 2017 to arch-rivals Pakistan, they suffered a heartbreaking defeat at the hands of New Zealand in the first semi-final of World Cup 2019.

Therefore, the newly appointed BCCI president Sourav Ganguly wants captain Kohli to address this issue and end the drought of ICC trophy. India last won an ICC tournament in 2013 when the MS Dhoni-led side beat England in the final of the Champions Trophy.
“India are a good team. The only issue (skipper) Virat Kohli needs to address is that we have not won the last seven major tournaments. But they play well in big tournaments, except the semifinals and the final. Hopefully, Virat can change it around. He is a champion player,” Ganguly told reporters in Kolkata.
When asked if he was at the receiving end of politics or injustice during his playing career, the BCCI president said: “Only once or twice. Only three Indian cricketers have played more than 300 ODIs and 100 Test matches. They are Sachin Tendulkar, Rahul Dravid and yours truly. This would have been impossible had I faced politics or injustice.”
Deflecting any comparison with the late Jagmohan Dalmiya, the last BCCI president from Kolkata, Ganguly said, “He achieved whatever was there to achieve as an administrator. I will consider myself successful even if I manage to achieve 50%.”
