The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has, on Monday (October 14), expressed its disappointment at the latest statements made by Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) President Shammi Silva over the security arrangements for his team during recently concluded limited-overs tour of Pakistan.
The Islanders recently visited Karachi and Lahore for three-match ODI and T20I matches series which they lost by 2-0 with one match washed out and as many as T20Is earlier this month with a second-string squad after top players opted out of the tour due to security concerns.
Despite being a depleted side, Sri Lanka registered a historic 3-0 whitewash against the No.1 ranked T20 side in Lahore last week, but this short trip was not really easy for the tourists, as they had to coop up in hotel rooms for a long time and to be under the extensive security observation all the time.

SLC President revealed the tiredness of the national squad and staff being inside the hotel and waiting for roads to be closed in Pakistan during the tour.
Following Silva’s comments, a top PCB official has expressed its displeasure with SLC. As per PTI, a source revealed: “The PCB is very disappointed and hurt over such comments as presidential level security was provided to the visiting team on the insistence of their board. We wanted to make their stay as comfortable as possible.”
The SLC boss also made it clear that the players and support staff’s views on the recent tour will play a role in deciding the Test tour of Pakistan in December.
