Sri Lanka players declare Pakistan as ‘safe nation to play cricket’, thank them for hospitality and security

Sri Lankan cricket players have declared Pakistan as a safe place to visit and play cricket after while hailing Pakistan Cricket Board’s (PCB) great security arrangements and hospitality after the end of a special and successful limited-overs tour of the country.

The PCB has made all possible efforts to bring back international cricket to the country and they have successfully made it as the Sri Lanka series they held without any peril in Lahore and Karachi.

However, Pakistan, who won 3-match ODI series 2-0, though, whitewashed by the Islanders in the 3-match T20 International series, but gained much more as they managed to win back the hearts of the touring side and the fans as well.

The successful hosting of the Sri Lanka team is a major boost for Pakistan cricket as it would certainly encourage other countries to play cricket in Pakistan and Islanders also hopes that other countries will visit the country very soon.

Batsman Shehan Jayasuriya tweeted, "Thank you #Pakistan ... for the hospitality, safe environment, tight security, and support. Hope to come back soon and hope other countries will follow us as well. @TheRealPCB #SLvPAK #PAKvSL"

Danushka Gunathilaka said on Twitter, “End of a very special tour. Kudos to PCB for bringing back international cricket to their fans. Great hospitality. Excellent security measures. Hope every other country will visit here soon. Pakistan is safe to play cricket and their fans deserve it!”

Meanwhile, Sri Lanka captain Dasun Shanaka thanked the Pakistan crowd for their support and PCB for the great hospitality throughout the limited-overs tour.

Shanaka said, “It’s a good victory. Thanks to the Pakistan crowd, they supported not just the home team, but us as well. All the players bonded well in our team and that was the key to success. They are all very talented and I think unity is the secret behind our success.”
