After being whitewashed by Sri Lanka in their own home in the three-match T20 International series, Pakistan captain Sarfaraz Ahmed on Wednesday (October 9) admitted that the Men in Green must work on all three aspects of the game.

With the latest defeat, Pakistan, the number one ranked T20I side, has now lost six T20s off seven outings so far in 2019 after they lost all 3 matches of the home series to a second-string Sri Lankan team.

The Islanders brilliantly bounced back in the tour after losing One Day International series 0-2 to the hosts in Karachi as the tourists have put all their efforts and came out with all-round show to clean sweep the T20I series in Lahore, Pakistan.

In the third T20I, Islanders managed to post a seemingly manageable total of 147-7, thanks to brilliant 78 off just 48 balls by Oshada Fernando on debut, but Lankan bowlers were too good with the bat, as they restricted the hosts to 134-6 in 20 overs to win the game by 13 runs to complete a whitewash.

Sarfaraz told reporters in Lahore, “We were subdued, we didn't express ourselves throughout this series. We just wanted to try out as many players as possible. We need to work a lot on all three fronts, especially fielding. We can't beat any team if we drop catches like that in the middle overs.”

Noteworthy, Pakistan will next travel to Australia for three T20Is and two Tests as part of the ICC World Test Championship in November.
