
Former India off-spinner and women's team coach Ramesh Powar and former batsman Hrishikesh Kanitkar have been appointed as permanent batting and bowling coaches respectively at the National Cricket Academy (NCA), Bengaluru on Tuesday (October 1).
The Supreme Court-appointed Committee of Administrators (CoA) confirmed the appointments of the two, who have been part of the NCA set-up for a while now in a meeting in Delhi on Tuesday.
Kanitkar and Powar will report to NCA Director of Cricket Rahul Dravid and travel with various representative teams – India A, India U-19 or India U-23 when required.

A BCCI official close to the development told Sportstar, “The positions have been vacant for a while now and the CoA has now decided to clear the appointments. This is a permanent appointment.”
Meanwhile, Powar, who had a controversial stint as head coach of India's women's cricket team, was appointed the bowling coach of India A team for two four-day matches and One-dayers series against South Africa A in August.
In his career spanning a decade and a half, 41-year-old Powar played two Test matches and 31 One Day Internationals for India beside 148 First-class and 113 List A matches in domestic cricket.
On the other hand, Kanitkar represented India in two Tests and 34 ODIs as well as has previously coached Tamil Nadu in the Ranji Trophy and has been working with the NCA in various capacities.
