Australia’s women cricketers Delissa Kimmince and Laura Harris are the latest entry to the list of the same-sex relationship in the game of cricket on September 26 (Thursday).

Delissa had promised to her Women’s Big Bash League (WBBL) franchise Brisbane Heat teammate Laura that she would express her feelings for her after their team won the title this season.

Well, the right-handed batswoman kept her promise and proposed to Laura after Brisbane Heat won the WBBL title in 2018-19 season and interestingly Harris had hit the winning run for the side in the latest edition of the tournament and won the WBBL title after defeating Sydney Sixers in the final.

While Laura accepted the 30-year-old’s proposal, Brisbane Heat took to Twitter to confirm their relationship with a caption: “If we win the final, I’ll buy the ring”... ???? DK finally came through with her promise! Congrats Delissa and Laura!

Kimmince has also replied to this post: “A little late but I kept the promise”

Meanwhile, Kimmince had made her debut for Australia against New Zealand in 2008, though, she took a long break from cricket in 2009, and returned to play in the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup in 2014 and since then the cricketer has been a regular member of the national side.

On the other hand, Harris has played for Brisbane Heat for three WBBL seasons and made her domestic cricket debut for Queensland in the 2016–17 Women’s National Cricket League.

Noteworthy, Kimmince and Laura join Amy Satterthwaite and Lea Tahuhu of New Zealand, Alex Blackwell and Lynsey Askew of Australia, Megan Schutt and Jess Holyoake, Jess Jonassen, and Sarah Vern and South Africa's Dane van Niekerk and Marizanne Kapp who have confirmed same-sex relationships.
