
Barbados Tridents and Jamaica Tallawahs faced each other in the 20th match of Caribbean Premier League (CPL) 2019 at Kensington Oval, Bridgetown on Monday (September 23).
Sent into bat by Tridents skipper Jason Holder, Tallawahs posted a paltry 127/10 in 20 overs. Glenn Phillips was the lone warrior with the bat for the visitors, scoring 41 off 35 balls.
For the home team, Holder (2/21), Sandeep Lamichhane (2/17) and Raymon Reifer (2/31) claimed two scalps each while Roshon Primus, Harry Gurney and JP Duminy chipped in with wicket apiece.

In the chase, Tridents kept losing wickets at regular intervals as Imran Khan (3/19) and Shamar Springer (3/32) wreaked havoc on the host batsmen with three wickets each. Dwayne Smith also got rid of a couple of batters, including the dangerous-looking Raymon Reifer (26 off 12 balls) in the last over of the match.
Apart from Johnson Charles (31 off 35 balls), no one from Barbados’ batting line-up managed to cross the 30-run mark as Tallawahs eventually restricted them to 122/9 in the stipulated 20 overs, securing a thrilling 5-run victory.
