
St Lucia Zouks and Barbados Tridents faced each other in the 17th match of Caribbean Premier League (CPL) at Daren Sammy National Cricket Stadium in St Lucia on Friday (September 20).
Sent into bat by St Lucia skipper Daren Sammy, Tridents posted 172/6 in 20 overs on the back of opener Justin Greaves’ 45-ball 57. Jonathan Carter and Johnson Charles also played valuable cameos of 21-ball 30 and 19-ball 28 respectively.
Kesrick Williams was the pick of the bowlers for St Lucia, claiming 3 for 44 in his stipulated four overs while Obed McCoy returned with the figures of 2/19 in his three overs.

Defending to total, Tridents bowlers didn’t allow any substantial partnership to flourish. While captain Jason Holder and Joshua Bishop dented the hosts with two scalps each, Sandeep Lamichhane, Raymon Reifer and Josh Lalor claimed wicket apiece.
Apart from Hardus Viljoen (31 off 21 balls), no one from St Lucia’s batting line-up managed to cross the 30-run mark as Barbados eventually bundled the home team out for 101 in 14.5 overs, securing a thumping 71-run victory.
