Kevin Pietersen, the former England captain and perhaps one of the most enigmatic players of his time, had a problem with spinners, especially left-arm spinners who dismissed him quite a lot in international cricket.
Therefore, when he needed some advice in order to tackle that menace, he looked towards perhaps the best player of spin in the world in former India captain Rahul Dravid. Pietersen had played with Dravid in the IPL for Royal Challengers Bangalore and shared a great rapport.
During England's tour of Bangladesh in 2010, the 'Three Lions' had played a practice match prior to the Test series where Pietersen had a forgettable outing as he could only manage to score 2 and 20 in both the innings and he had lost his wickets to spinners on both occasions. They were Shakib Al Hasan and Abdur Razzak respectively.
He wrote Dravid an email in order to help him work on his game against left-arm spinners and Dravid being a gentleman, obliged. He wrote a lengthy email to KP detailing on how to tackle the problems he was facing and helped him get over the hurdles. The World T20 winner went on to highlight this in his autobiography titled KP: The Autobiography and even mentioned about the same in YouTube show What the Duck.
Here is the mail that Dravid wrote to KP, which was published in his autobiography.
